Description
Outstanding fall color--crimson to red.
Shumard red oaks have large, wide leaves that range from pale to dark green. In the fall, the leaves turn crimson. It has large green acorns that turn solid brown as they mature. Shumards are generally faster growing and larger than Texas red oaks. Once established, the Shumard red oak is extremely drought tolerant.
